The rain must have disappeared for a while with 18 riders turning up for this morning’s ride. Jack our ride leader gave us a brief of the first part of his ride and the general consensus was let’s stay close to the leader or we just go to Ricks garage and wait. There were no issues as Jack kept a very steady pace and everyone was fairly close to one another throughout the ride. As we all arrive at our first stop for a break, the conversation was more new roads we haven’t been on some of those roads. There are just so many back roads on the east side of the highway up the coast it’s just too hard to remember them all. So after the short break it was up to Mapleton across to Montville down through Hunchy back up to Montville across the top of the range down to Landsborough then Mooloolah, Eudlo and the Ricks Garage at Palmwoods. As the ride took as around the area a few riders decided to call it a day, as they were close to home so 12 of us ended up at Ricks for Brunch. The only issue for the day goes to Rob L being tail end Charlie ended up going in the wrong direction as Pete T was going home so Rob decided to follow him and not the main group until he pulled Pete over asked where he was going, so Rob came in late about 15minutes after all the rest had ordered their meals (so a find goes to Rob L). It was good to see Pete T back out on the bike after his little health scare (even though it was his 30 year old Honda 500). Thanks to Jack for planning and leading the ride, and to all those that turned up to make it another good day out on the Bikes.
Next Wednesday the 10 July ride will be led by Lou: Meet at the Woombye Pub at 0800 for a departure at 0830 travelling up through Maleny then onto Kenilworth for morning tea then take Lou’s back roads via the back of Gympie to Theebine Pub for lunch.
Those going to the Superbikes this weekend meet at Woolworth car park in Beerwah 0800 for 0830 departure.
Sunday the 14th July Coffee Run to Sweethearts cafe at Eudlo.
